English - Articles

St George parish, headed by the author of the article, has rehabilitated drug addicts since 1998. First HIV positive young men joined the group of rehabilitants in 2002; they constitute nearly half of the total number lately. On the pastoral care of people living with HIV/AIDS PDF Печать
English - Articles

HIV/AIDS has posed some difficult questions for confessors. This article is an attempt to answer some of them.

What doctors would try to do is to maintain a false hope on recovery; they would conceal the verdict and play a sly game that humiliated all its participants. Man has the right to face death, to summon his courage to encounter it rather then be abducted by it unprepared.

We have maintained cooperation with them to this day. The first drug-addicts appeared at the Georgievskoye village in 1992, but it was in 1998 that the parish began to admit patients for rehabilitation on a regular basis. In recent time, 7 or 8 rehabilitants have stayed at the same time at the parish.
